Egas Moniz was passionate about art. At the door of the house he inhabited in Estarreja (Portugal), we can read: “Museums are the greatest Fine Arts schools. I wish we had one in every town and in every village for the people to rise in spiritual communion with the Beautiful.”

In September 2016, Estarreja streets became a museum with ESTAU. A festival that puts urban art speaking with the city, with the people, with the heritage and with nature, through murals, installations, workshops, films, lectures, music and much more, and with the participation of numerous national and international artists.

Say ESTAU and make echo in Estarreja of the world’s best urban art.

Egas Moniz era um apaixonado pela arte. À porta da casa que habitou em Estarreja, ainda hoje podemos ler: “as grandes escolas das Artes plásticas são os Museus. Quisera um em cada cidade, em cada vila e em cada aldeia para que o povo se elevasse na comunhão espiritual do Belo”.

Em Setembro de 2016, as ruas de Estarreja transformaram-se num museu com o ESTAU. Um festival que põe a arte urbana a falar com a cidade, com as pessoas, com o património e com a natureza, através de murais, instalações, workshops, filmes, palestras, música e muito mais, e com a participação de inúmeros artistas nacionais e internacionais.

Diz ESTAU e faz eco em Estarreja do melhor que se faz em arte urbana no mundo.
